How Bryce Dallas Howard Had Her Kids Keep Baby Yoda in 'Mandalorian' Secret

When you look at the breakout stars of 2019 you have to at least consider one pint-sized entry that might have made the biggest splash of all and he’s not even real, Baby Yoda.

The adorable version of the green Jedi totally took fans by surprise in the premiere episode of the Disney+ Star Wars show, The Mandalorian.

And the adorable character is now understandably the talk of elementary schools around the country.

Mandalorian director Bryce Dallas Howard faced a unique problem while making the show because her 6 and 11-year-old kids were on set daily getting to play with Baby Yoda, but they had to keep him a secret.

She tells The Hollywood Reporter it was a massive challenge.

"When the kids went back to school, every single day I would say, ‘So, what are you not gonna talk about today?’ And they would say, ‘Baby!’” She explains. "I would just consistently remind them that there’s no circumstance that could ever arise where they’re allowed to talk about Baby [Yoda]."

The Mandalorian is streaming now on Disney+.
