How Lebron James Just Made 197 Kids Dreams Come True

LeBron James’ heart on the basketball court is well documented. He’s an NBA champion and a lock for the Hall Of Fame one day, but his heart off the court is far bigger.

He opened a school for underprivileged kids in Akron, Ohio (where he’s from) a few years ago to help them get a head start and promised to pay for their college tuition. Well, he’s just put his money where his mouth is.

197 juniors, who will be his I Promise School’s first graduating class, made a trip to Kent State for what they thought would be a routine college tour. Instead they found out they all had 4 years of guaranteed college admission, plus a year of free room and board, over $8 million in financial aid.

For LeBron doing it feels even better than a championship, he says:

"For me to be able to be in a position to give these kids options to decide what they want to do with their future it's probably the best thing I've ever done."
