The summer heat is hard for us, but especially our pups when you need to take them out for a walk. The pavement can get hot for their paws, but how do we know it's too hot for them?

Ryan Seacrest shared the hack on-air that can help you decide if the pavement outside is too hot for your furry best friend's paws to walk on in the hot summer days.

Here's what you need to do:

PUT THE BACK OF YOUR HAND ON THE PAVEMENT FOR 7 SECONDS

If it's too hot to keep your hands on the pavement for that long, it's too hot for their paws.
