Paul Russell Talks Viral Hit 'Lil Boo Thang' & What's Next

If you're on social media and need to add a song to a story or TikTok, you've probably already used or have a video that the viral track "Lil Boo Thang" would go great with.

Ryan Seacrest, Sisanie, and Tanya Rad are all OBSESSED with the track, so we had the man behind the song, Paul Russell, on-air and in studio to talk about how the song came to be.

Originally, Russell released a 21 second version of the track on TikTok back in June and it became so viral that people were begging him to release the full song. Now a popular hit online that pumps up the mood and gets people up and dancing, Russell says he's living in the moment and letting people continue to enjoy the track before he moves on to the next project.

"Still trying to figure out the timeline of everything which is hard because it's like when you have something that's moving, I wanna soak in the moment a little bit. But then I also wanna get people ready and go hey here's the new thing," the singer told Seacrest on-air.

The song is an interpolation that samples "Best of My Love" by The Emotions and has captured tens of millions of views on TikTok and will probably be heard everywhere you go, if you don't hear it everywhere already!

"So Paul, you have a star quality. I'm watching you, I'm listening to you, I'm looking at you, I'm watching the way you speak and move... that is something that's really special. And you either have it or you don't from what I've seen, and you've got it" Seacrest shared with Paul.
