Kenya Grace on Her Viral Rise to Fame, First Visit to America & Much More

"Strangers" singer Kenya Grace joined Ryan Seacrest in-studio for the first time during her first-ever visit to America on the heels of the success of her debut single.

Kenya rose to fame after releasing a snippet of "Strangers" on social media and it went viral. Fans recreated their own videos using the sound on TikTok and Instagram, leaving the track with now over 100 billion views.

The 25-year-old South African-born British singer/songwriter shared with Seacrest she only had the chorus done when the demand for the full song to drop hit.

"I just love making little videos and little songs in my room and I had no idea it would turn into this," she shared. "I noticed people started using the sound to make really cool videos ... and it blew my mind and then I got like quite a few DMs from people saying they wanted it out. ... It was not done. I literally just wrote the chorus. ... I really rushed and finished it and was like 'I hope they like the verses!'"

Kenya, who was working at a tattoo parlor in piercings, added that she also almost considered quitting music before her big break.
