Jennifer Lopez Shares 'Hopeless Romantic' Meaning Behind New Album & Film

Jennifer Lopez shared the meaningful inspiration behind her new album This Is Me...Now and its accompanying film This Is Me...Now: A Love Story during her latest chat with Ryan Seacrest on-air on Thursday, February 15.

This Is Me...Now is J.Lo's ninth album and a sequel of sorts to her 2002 This Is Me… Then, which she released when she was first dating Ben Affleck, to whom she is now married to 22 years later!

Lopez shared with Seacrest "the crazy plot twist where we wound up back together" did inspire her "make music again." And the album's accompanying film was a new creative move she was inspired to explore as opposed to just another music video.

"... It was very natural and organic," she explained. "I wanted to do something that really told a certain story that could combine all the things I do like movies and musicals and myself as a recording artist. ... This isn't even the story of Ben and I. I didn't want to tell that story. People know that story. This is really the story of a hopeless romantic going through life. ... This Is Me...Now really is about embracing who you are now."

This Is Me...Now and its accompanying film This Is Me...Now: A Love Story drop tomorrow February 16 on Prime Video.
